- Augmentation mammoplasty (Breast enlargement with prosthetics or fats)
Breasts are perhaps one of the most important elements of a woman’s femininity. Women who have small breasts in size often complain about it. Breast augmentation surgery is performed to bring the breasts that are small in size, sagging or asymmetrical compared to ideal sizes, to the desired form. These surgeries yield very successful results.
You had the most beautiful feeling in the world and you held your child in your arms. You nursed for days and nights.
Can breast augmentation and breast lift be performed in the same surgery?
If the breast is not very saggy, the breast will naturally straighten during breast augmentation surgery. However, in some cases, there may be excessive sagging of the patient’s breast. In such rare cases, a special procedure for lifting within the same surgery should be added to the surgical procedure. Your doctor will make this decision after examining you.
Can people with asymmetrical breasts solve their problem with mammoplasty?
Most women have asymmetrical breasts, even though they don’t realize it. Breasts, one of which is smaller than the other, are brought to the same size by placing different sized implants in the breast augmentation operation or by oil injection in the same operation.
How long does surgery take, how long is the hospitalisation and resting period?
An average breast augmentation operation takes about two hours. Although the doctor will decide how long the person should stay in the hospital, one night of hospitalization is usually sufficient. Afterwards, a rest period of one to two weeks is necessary under normal conditions.

How is the size of the breast prosthesis determined?
The fact of how big breasts you want to have is of course your personal decision, but it is very important at this stage to take into account the professional opinions of your doctor! The ideal breast size should be determined by the specialist according to the body structure of the person. Otherwise, your breasts may turn into a burden rather than a beauty! Therefore, parameters such as back and shoulder width, height and weight should be considered when choosing a breast prosthesis.
Will there be a lot of pain in the postoperative period?
A few days after surgery are usually painful. However, the painkillers that your doctor will determine will help you get through this period easily.
Do implants cause allergies?
This probability is so low as to be negligible. Prostheses used in breast augmentation are produced from materials that are compatible with the natural structure of our body and do not cause allergic reactions.
Are there any points to be considered after the surgery?
During the recovery period after surgery, it is very important that you follow the instructions of your doctor. Dressings and bands are removed a few days after the surgery. However, you should wear a sports bra instead. Regular use of these bras for the required period of time ensures that the surgery will have a natural result.
Is breast augmentation surgery recognizable from the outside?
If a prosthesis is chosen in a size suitable for the proportion of your body, the appearance that will occur as a result of the surgery will also be extremely natural. The implants, which are in harmony with the structure of your body, will look natural when viewed and touched by another person.
Will there be an incision scar after the surgery?
Yes, a small incision scar remains after the operation. However, your doctor will decide on the incision area and it will be chosen in places that will not be noticed as much as possible. Incisions made under the arm, under the breast line or around the nipple will not cause discomfort afterwards.
Are there different techniques in breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation surgeries can be performed in two different ways. One method is the submuscular method, and the other is the dual plan method, which is supported by the muscle and breast tissue. Your doctor will choose the most appropriate method for you.
You had the most beautiful feeling in the world and you held your child in your arms. You nursed for days and nights.
What is the submuscular method?
The implant is placed under the membrane on the muscle behind the breast. The advantage is that there is very little post-operative pain. However, this decision should be determined by the doctor’s control and experience, rather than the patient’s preference.
What is the dual plan method?
The dual plan method is based on the principle of placing the implant with support from both breast tissue and muscle tissue. Depending on the breast structure, skin and subcutaneous tissue thickness and characteristics, the upper part of the implant is placed under the muscle and the lower part is placed outside the muscle. Again, it is your doctor who will determine the most appropriate method for you. Since the muscle incision will be made, the postoperative pain is slightly more than the submuscular method. The prosthesis is less likely to be felt when touched, since there will be muscle tissue on the upper part of the silicone prosthesis.
Are there different types of breast prostheses?
The most preferred prosthetic material is silicone. In addition, there are cases where the prosthetic content obtained from the person’s own fat tissue is used. There are also different categories of silicone prostheses. These categories, which are divided into drops and rounds, can be especially preferred by the patient or the doctor.
Is breast augmentation surgery permanent?
The permanence of breast augmentation surgery is life-long unless it is exposed to a traumatic accident or blow, and unless there is a discomfort called capsule contractor, which progresses by causing pain in the breast and pulling on the skin.
What is capsule contraction?
Postoperative complications that may be encountered after breast augmentation surgery are divided into early and late complications. In every breast prosthesis application, a capsule is formed around the prosthetics. Generally, after the sixth month, pain and pulling may occur due to capsule contraction. If it reaches a degree that can be seen from the outside or if it causes pain that affects the daily life of the patient, the capsule should be removed together with the prosthesis. It is a disease that your doctor will diagnose with physical examination and imaging methods and can be completely corrected by medical intervention.
