- Mini Facelift (fat injection in necessary cases)
It is the process of pulling up the sagging tissues, especially in the chin and upper neck area, which occur due to aging in the face area.
This procedure is a more minimal application of face and neck lift surgeries that have been applied for many years. Due to the decrease in collagen production on the face, fine wrinkles are formed and the tissues are shifted downwards due to the effect of gravity. On the face, there is a tissue with vascular and nerve structures on, inside and below the bone and muscle structures. This procedure is performed by reducing the size of this tissue or by folding it on itself. Excess skin is also removed with this procedure. This surgical procedure is frequently applied today as an alternative to many facial rejuvenation procedures.
You had the most beautiful feeling in the world and you held your child in your arms. You nursed for days and nights.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR MINI FACELIFT?
This procedure is especially applied to patients who have sagging skin from the cheek to the lower jaw and have a collapsed appearance in the area between the nose and mouth. While face and neck lift operations are applied at older ages, mini facelift operations can be applied at earlier ages in patients with this complaint. Ideal for patients looking for more permanent solutions. It differs according to the needs of each patient and should be evaluated by a specialist.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINI AND FULL FACELIFTS?
In full facelift surgery, the tissues hanging up and the area undergoing surgical intervention are larger, and therefore the patient’s recovery and operation time is longer. Mini facelift can be performed with local anaesthesia (regional sedation) in suitable patients and the operation time is approximately 1.5 hours. Perhaps the most important issue for patients is postoperative scarring. In the mini facelift operation, the incision made between the protrusion in the middle of the ear and the earlobe is approximately 2 cm. Other incisions remain behind the ear and are not visible. In full facelift, it is reached up to the sideburn line. In the mini facelift operation, the lower jaw, lower midface and upper neck of the patient are lifted. In full face and neck lift, all tissues on the décolleté can be lifted.
WHERE DOES MINI FACELIFT PERFORMED?
Mini facelift is a surgical procedure and is performed in hospitals with suitable operating rooms.
HOW LONG DOES THE SURGERY TAKE?
Mini facelift surgery takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. The time varies depending on the patient and the procedure to be performed. It can be performed under general anaesthesia (putting the patient completely asleep) or local anaesthesia (by regional sedation).
IS POST-OPERATIVE SURGERY REQUIRED?
Usually, hospitalization is not required. After observing the patient’s condition in the hospital for a while after the operation, the patient can be discharged or hospitalised for just 1 day.

WHEN CAN THE PATIENT RETURN TO HIS/HER DAILY LIFE?
In order to reduce swelling and bruising in patients after the operation, dressing is applied with a pressure bandage. On the 3rd day, these bandages are removed and thin tape is placed only on the incisions. During and after this period, there is no restriction to the daily physical activity of the patient.
WILL THIS PROCEDURE NEED TO BE REPEATED IN THE FUTURE?
There is no force on earth that can oppose gravity. Depending on the skin structure and age of the patient, sagging is experienced again between 3-7 years. Depending on the needs of the patient, it may be necessary to repeat this operation after the 5th year.
WILL THERE BE POST-OPERATIVE PAIN?
There is usually no pain after mini facelift surgeries. The patient may have swelling that gradually decreases after the operation. Although not in every patient, swelling and bruises are usually in the neck region and last for about 7 days.
WHAT ARE THE ISSUES TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION AFTER THE SURGERY?
Normally, we recommend our patients to lie upright after the surgery. We are in favour of keeping pressure bandages for 3 days. Apart from these, there is no care that will affect the daily life of the patient.
At the end of the day, mini facelift operation is an alternative and effective method with its permanence and short operation time in patients with lesser facial skin sagging at earlier ages.
